I was given a chance to do this book review of the Dangerous Days of Daniel X by James Patterson. He is a best selling author and this book is the first of a series to promote Young adults to take time to read. This book certainly makes it easy to do so since it is a quick read and keeps you wanting more. Don't just assume this book is only for young adults as I enjoyed it just as much and found myself ready for the next one in the series.
Daniel is a young boy whose parents were murdered at the age of three. He knew he was no ordinary young boy but had special powers. What he had for help was "The List", his powers and special friends. All needed to save Earth from being taken over and destroyed.
While hunting down aliens, he not only learns more about his special powers but also about his weakness. Letting his guard down and becoming vulnerable leads him on an adventure that turns the table on his whole life!
I found myself looking forward to my time reading this book, enjoying the characters and easily wanting to read the next book in the series. Patterson does a very good job describing the looks of the characters, and keeping it clean for all ages. I did not expect myself to enjoy this book as much as I did, assuming it was more geared toward young adults. It is definitely a good read for young adults and beyond who are into action, science fiction and mystery all in one!
The Dangerous Days of Daniel X is available at Amazon.com to purchase.
